Our missions
Empowering Communities with AFYA
At Twente Partners, we recognize the power of education and sports to transform lives. Our collaboration with the Addo Football Youth Academy (AFYA) focuses on addressing the challenges faced by the youth of Nomathamsanqa, South Africa. This community, located near the Addo Elephant National Park and the large citrus farming area, struggles with issues like poverty, unemployment, and lack of educational opportunities.
AFYA’s initiatives

Football Fairplay Program
This after-school program encourages the healthy development of children aged 6-18 through sports. By promoting values, life skills, and healthy habits, they aim to keep children off the streets and engaged in positive activities.

Extra Time Educational Program
AFYA provides a safe space where children can complete their homework, engage in tasks, and study. Incorporating technology, they provide rural children with the resources they need to excel academically and reach their potential.

Inspiring Future
This initiative focuses on developing essential skills for employment, challenging existing belief systems, and encouraging children to think about their future careers; by providing mentorship and career guidance.
Through these programs, Twente Partners and AFYA work together to break the cycle of poverty, improve school performance, reduce absenteeism, and ultimately empower the youth to build a brighter future for themselves and their community.

Twente Partners is committed to the conservation of biodiversity and the protection of endangered species. Our partnership with the Shannon Elizabeth Foundation and the Addo Elephant National Park supports the Munu Rhino Sanctuary Project, a significant initiative aimed at preserving the critically endangered rhinoceros.
Munu Rhino Sanctuary is located in the Sundays River Valley. This sanctuary provides a safe haven for Munu, protecting him from poaching and ensuring his survival. Soon, the Shannon Elizabeth’s Foundation will find a girlfriend for this adorable blind rhino. This will allow them to start a breeding program to help increase the rhino population.
The sanctuary is part of a broader effort to preserve the rich biodiversity of the region. The surrounding areas, including the Addo Elephant National Park and the Zuurberg Mountains, are home to diverse wildlife and flora, which are vital to maintaining ecological balance.
Twente Partners and our collaborators work to raise awareness about the importance of biodiversity and environmental conservation. Through educational programs and community engagement, we foster a sense of responsibility and stewardship towards the environment.
By supporting the Munu Rhino Sanctuary Project, Twente Partners not only contributes to the protection of an iconic species but also promotes sustainable tourism and job creation, benefiting both people and wildlife.
